gas fumes for a 1996 960 900 1996

Dear Sir,

I posted a problem several months ago on gas fumes with my 1996 960 sedan. They have continued with 6 mechanics finding nothing. The fuel injector rail was replaced several days ago. It still has fumes. A smoke test was done 2 months age and it is worse since then. If I turn on the AC or heat and the fan the fumes will make you sick.

They realize dropping the gas tank is the next step and several of you said it was possibly the y-connector. Even the volvo dealer states this but no one seems to want to do this since they see no evidence of a leak or residue.

Any other suggestions? Is it possibly this hose still? I feel I am at my wits end.

Thanks for any suggestions! Judy Greer
