Ouch... Rusty Driver's Side Spar... 1800 1973

Sadly, 1800's are pretty good at hiding their rust. What you see is usually the tip of the iceberg.

Get yourself a $250 MIG welder and have at it. Although even doing your own labor you'd probably still be better off just starting with a nicer car. Patched up 1800's never seem to be quite right again, even professional body shop workers seem to get things a little off here and there.
