240 Seats / wiper question 200 1988

Hi -

I just got a '88 240 Wagon that has the typical high-mileage, beat-up driver's seat. Is there a consensus on the best way to recover it? Are the IPD covers nice? I should replace the foam while I'm at it. Is the IPD foam a good option? It's not cheap.... Is the Volvo part available still, and is this a good option?

Also, I pulled up on the driver's side wiper and the entire shaft came out. I was able to get it back in the right place, but is there something that should have prevented it from being pulled out easily?

Thanks in advance--
Kevin
