Hi
I have 1990 240 DS SW which has 207K miles on it. I changed my raditaor 3 months ago with a nissens units.I have noticed that coolant level in reservoir falls by half after say 1000Miles. I have checked all the hoses and connections and there is no apparent leak.I have checked the hoses which go inside the passanger compartment. I also noticed that there is very little oil leak of roughly one- two drops a week . The oil leakage is visible at the lowermost stud of bell housing. This does not cause any drop at the dip stick .
I may have overfilled the synthetic oil 10W30 Mobil-1.I changed to synthetic 5k miles earlier. So I thought that the oil pressure is high so I checked the PVC valve . There was cream colored deposits there. Almost of color and consistency of grease. Is it alarming. Can it be that coolant is leaking in to engine oil.I drained half a quart of oil so that excessive pressure is relieved. The color of engine oil is as usual dark with no water etc.
Where this coolant might be going. Is there peculiar places which I should check.Should I worry about oil leakage. It seems to come from the joint between oil pan and engine block.
Regards
Gopesh
