mysteries...? 200

OK, so I'm starting to dig in to my new project car and learning it's ins and out. This is my first turbu engine ever, so I'm trying to get a lay of the land under the hood.

One of the first mysteries I've come up on is that the title I received for the car says "1982", while the information attached to the driver side door when you open it says 1983? This one has no exterior badging also which would designate it. Is it properly speaking a 242 Turbo? It only has two doors...? How do I tell what level of trim it has for the GL, GLT and all that jazz?

From what I've read on the web also, intercoolers did not come on this model until mid-84, so I am wondering what the thing is that resides just to the front of my right wheel, sandwiched between the radiator and headlight section and the wheel? It kind of looks like it could be an intercooler, but I don't know. It has five lines of about half-inch coming out of it, and large tubing which looks like air-ducting. Is this an oil-cooler?
