Of ignitions and alternators 120-130 1960

>Secondly...
Hi. I suggest an alternative on electronic ignition:

Use a Autotronics MSD 5 electronic ignition red box (or MSD 6 if you engine is "tuned") and leave the points inside the dizzy. It is a lot easy to install than pertronix (and points works without periodical adjustments).

My personal experience with two reluctors (the thing replacing the points inside the dizzy on pertronix and crane-like electronics systems) was bad (reluctors behave as delicate creatures on cramped hot bosch distributors, two times that things goes south in middle of the highway leaving me stranded).

On a emergency (MSD fried by shortcircuit) you can bypass it and run only with points.

If you like, see MSD boxes on www.msdignition.com, and a picture of my car engine (with a MSD5) on http://groups.msn.com/ClubVolvodelPeru/volvo1211966.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=196
