Tie rod &Tie rod ends 700 1987

All,

I did a search and got some info but here's my dilema.

Tried to remove a TRE over the weekend and could not get it to budge. PB Blaster and heat made no diff.

I am thinking now to remove the TR itself and attack on bench OR just get a new rod and replace to rod and end as a unit.

Any tips/tricks on getting the rack end of the rod off. Pics would be helpful too. My Bentley didn't offer much in this area.
