Radio Woes

Anyone run into this before?

I have a 1992 940 Turbo with a Cassette radio not sure of the radio model, for years it has provided excellant sound and service.

As of late when the radion is on an FM station, there is a drop out in power sound drops in level and cracks like it was off station. If tap the side of the radio it may come back to volume. You do not have to be moving for this to happen, thinking loose connection.

AM- stations are fine, Cassette is fine and I can run a remote CD player through the cassette slot and it plays well.

I have removed the radio looking for a loose conections, (non-found) I have replaced the antenna mast (was sticking anyway). And the radio suppression relay (no change).

Is it the radio it's self, an amp?

The fact it works well on AM and cassette should rule out the amps?

Any help would be great.
John
