Does oil ruin tires? 200

Brother-in-law gave me a pair of snow tires a few years ago. Didn't need them til now. They were sitting in the back of my garage, some used oil spilled into one of them (don't ask) and has been sitting for a couple of years. Should the tire be OK? If so, what should I use to clean it out? Is kerosene OK or what? Thanks.
