122 vent window seal question 120-130 1965

I just did this on the weekend. The frame is built together with the front window channel so it all comes out together. My 66 had 3 screws on top through the door frame, two screws at the base and one at the bottom of the window channel through an access hole in the door. You also have to remove the window channel in the top of the door or you won't be able to tilt the frame back to get it out. This is just a push fit in the door so you can prise it out with a screwdriver. You don't need to take the window glass out just lower the window and leave it there. Once you have the vent frame out you can see that the triangle seal is riveted to the frame so you have to prise out the runner in the channel opposite and drill out the rivets. My runner was so rusted it fell to bits but I found a suitable replacement at my rubber supply store for $8/mtr. You also need to take out the vent window from it's frame by taking off the nut, spring & washers and drilling out the rivet that it pivots on. As they say, reassemble in reverse order but you will need to guide the window glass back into the runner when you drop the frame back into the door. Hope this helps.
