silly question for those with a Cherry Turbo strut brace 200 1989

I finally joined the club and got one from iPd. Now I know the instruction that came with it is simple enough to understand and even without it I'm sure a monkey could install it with the right tools. *Sigh* Yet even with the iPd instruction and calling iPd technical support I'm still unsure. Well, I know how the brace fits on, but my main question concerns the the crescent-shaped metal pieces on either side of the strut towers and which are bolted on by two of the three bolts. I believe these are the caster plates? the iPd instruction says that they go on after the brace has been fitted on the strut towers, but in the pics of the CT brace on the 240 it looks like they are under the strut brace. I'm also told to mark them, but mark where? This is vexing me.
