Starting/Running Issues 1800 1973

The resistance of the coolant temp sensor should be in the range of 2000
ohms, less if warm and more if cool. If it is open the computer will think
it is very cold and push the mixture full rich. If it is shorted the opposite
is true and you will have fuel starvation.

The air temp sensor is in the front panel where the radiator is mounted
and its resistance is much less, around 300 ohms. They are similar and can
be switched with very bad results. The air temp sensor has much less effect
on the mixture than the coolant temp sensor.

Crud getting picked up and lodging in the injector strainers might also
cause problems like you describe. The strainers are in the top of the
injectors and fit inside the hose barb. They are cone-shaped with a brass
ring that sort of presses into the top of the injector.
