NOw I am really at a loss 700 1992

Check the black ground wires to the car body- make sure they are not corroded or broken off.

The flex circuit on the back of the taillight is always suspect. If it looks green or otherwise not clean copper, try cleaning it gently with a pencil eraser. If metal is worn off it, it may not be savable and you need a new light or at least another circuit board.

Check that you're using the correct sockets in the correct locations. Black brakelight socket on the left, white to the right. These are the only 3-pin sockets on the car. They take the 1157 bulb, a dual filament type.

Check the tabs on the socket- make sure they're bent up just a little for good contact tension. Make sure the bulb is in right- I've seen lamps forced in the wrong way. Clean the bottom of the bulb and the brass sides and the fingers inside the socket.

Good luck with it!
