6 Cylinder Tach 120-130

I picked up a 164 tachometer on eBay for pretty cheap. I wanted it mainly for the dash-mounted pod for my 122, but I hadn't given much thought to whether a 6 cylinder tach could be used on a 4 cylinder motor. My aftermarket tach had a little switch on the back for 4/6 cylinder, but I suspect that it will not be so easy to adjust if the adjustment was not an original feature. Can the B30 tach be "adjusted" for use on a B20?

Also, anyone know how this thing wires up? One to coil, one to ground, one to lights? I think that there's another wire in there...
