Retrofitting a non-airbag Volvo with a driver's side airbag 200 1986

Has anyone ever done or thought of retrofitting a Volvo 240, like my '86 sedan, with a driver's side airbag steering wheel unit from a 1990 thru 1993 Volvo 240? Are the steering hub and center bolt the same configuation? I would place a switch behind the bumper somewhere, maybe more on the driver's side in the event of a frontal offset head-on collision, and that would be far in enough not to be triggered by minor fender benders, but one last hard hit that would make the airbag earn its keep.

Thanks in advance everyone.
