Yes, I'm still here. But I have been spending a lot of time at Jay Leno's Garage. http://www.jaylenosgarage.com
I've been doing a good thing, though...spreading the word about our old Volvos!
Besides, I get to re-post everything I've already said here, and more!
My user name there is Steve PV544. There's a VERY NICE '65 PV544 listed there, too. I don't recognize it from this site, so it may be a new one!
I've been working on finishing those S.U.s up. Next I'll be redoing the intake manifold. I cheated a little the first time I did it - too short on time and had to get it back together. I cleaned it all up, did the 1st level polishing on all of it, then only did the mirror finish on the top part you can see when it's mounted.
Having the carbs off, now is a good time to pull it off again and do it right.
After all, I've put nearly a month of part-time days detailing those carbs, so I won't be fudging on the intake this time.

Other jobs in the pipeline:
Pull the alternator and detail it to match the carbs (painted gloss black and polishing out anything I can.)
Either buy or make a rear bumper mount clamp for my 'new' Hella back-up light.
Hook the speedo cable to my 'new' speedo and give it a road test to see if it works properly. It everything is OK I'll mount the other gauges into it and install them in the dash.
I need to mount the 12-CD changer into the trunk. I think I will hang it off the package shelf. Out of danger's way, but accessible. I found a deal on a 400-watt amplifier, so I may get that and put the big Boom Tube in the trunk too.
Other things that I might get to this winter:
Build a slide-out floor for the trunk so I can get my wheelchair out of it.
I have a very small 12V hydraulic reservoir/pump unit that was on a wheelchair lift. I'd like to make a system that would open both the trunk and/or hood at the push of a button. Some hose and a couple of small rams would do the trick.
Make new door panels and cover them with the old upholstery.
Clean and lubricate the seat slides so they will move without using a bulldozer to get enough pressure on them.
Put the car up on stands and detail/paint the undercarriage. (I'd have to clean out the garage first!)
