Hall Sensor? 700

Hey Guys,

Well, today I semi completed the swap..I took the stock b230ft out of my 740t, along with the auto tranny, and replaced it with the b230ft out the 85 760 I have. One thing doesn't add up though, I know that the engine from the 760 is not from 1985, it is supposedly newer, however, on the distributor on the 1990 740, there is no plugs or connectors going to it, however on the new engine being transplanted in (from 760) there is a connector that I obviously won't ahve on my wiring harness, from the faq, it seems that this is a hall sensor, my question is, is there any way to remedy this? If I just replace distributors will the computer in the 740 not have a problem? It doesn't seem like that will work because It sounded like the rpm sensor reads notches or grooves cut in flywheel..Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions or ideas I would appreciated it! Thanks alot,

Gus
