Hall Sensor? 700

Ok I will try and clarify, and tell you my idea and see what you think,

Car 1
Totally stock, 1990 740 Turbo Automatic Tranny

Car 2

1985 760 Turbo (salvage title)

Driveline (in car 2)-I am told was not stock (I just bought it last week from nocluetim,)
It has a b230ft with an m47 transmission, 5speed. I am not positive on the year of the tranny, but I do know that the Car 2's dist. has the connector on it for the hall sensor Car 1, does not.

I swapped the engine, and tranny from car 2, into car 1, because car 1 had a blown aw71 auto tranny and a heavy knock. Car 2 has a salvage title but runs great, so it's a good deal.

I was thinking, since the cars are mostly identical in terms of other functions like lights, interior, etc, do you think I could get away with just swapping the ecu's? Then I will have the same ecu that originally ran car 2's engine, in car 1. I would obviously also wire the connector up for the dist into it. I realize that I can not put the newer dist. on the older engine due to the different flywheel etc, but there has to be some way i can get this to run. Also, its no big deal to pull the engine back out, but at the moment it wouldnt solve anything because I don't have a flywheel with the notches in it, and I don't want an automatic.

What do you guys think about the ecu swap? If the ecus are not simply plug and replace, I was also thinking I could just swap the entire harness...although I would rather not do that..anyways, let me know what you guys think, and I appreciate the help!
