Engine Temp Sensor Thermal Switch Question 91 240 200 1991

I broke the fastener that connects the harness to the Engine Temperature Sensor (Thermal Switch). I used spade connectors to wire in extra wiring, and left enough excess so that if I had accidentally reversed the wires it would be easy to fix. I did my best to get them right.

Farm Boy's post on the same sensor got me looking at:

http://vlvworld.com/indexframe.html?VolvoRepairManual/Section_2_5.htm

Is it possible to wire the sensor in reversed, or is it simply a loop with resitance the factor that makes adjustments in the ECU? The car seems to be running fine, hot and cold.

Thanks

Dave
