Control panel door lock/unlock switch installation ... 200 1988

My 1997 965 is the first car we have owned that has the rocker-type switch on the dash to lock or unlock all the doors. I like it, and can see a way add the feature to my 1988 244GL.

Requirements include an actuator for the driver's door and a momentary contact switch that will fit into an unused central control panel slot (preferably a Volvo switch).

If I remember correctly, the early 240s and 260s with power windows had the switches on the control panel rather than the door handles. I think that switch would be what I want. It would fit, be momentary contact, and have the Volvo look.

What do you think? Will it work? Is there such a switch?

Maybe my assumption, that the the 960 switch won't fit, is wrong. Will the dash switch from a 940 - 740 - 760 - 780 fit the 240 control panel slot?

Thanks in advance,

Bob
