ALD 1041 type rear axle for 1991 700 1991

Does anybody know for certain whether 1041 (ALD/automatic locking differential) was standard on 1991 turbo RWD cars for north America? Some info says yes, but one source says it may be a "winter package" option.

If you own a 1991 740T or 940T, it would be in your owners manual under "winter driving". Does the book say 'optional' or 'some models'? Or if you have a southern car (1991 turbo only) and know for certain which rear it came with 1041/ALD or 1031/std, please post.

I am asking about solid/live axle models. For those interested in the IRS models (940SE & 960), those were all equipped with ALD.
