ipd's performance muffler system,does it really give a 240 5or 6 more horsepower?87 245 200

Basically, the IPD is a 240 exhaust without the front muffler

Actually it's the turbo exhaust (slightly larger diameter) which doesn't feature a front muffler. With this system on the N/A engine the exhaust is 2" until the end of the intermediate pipe and 2 1/4" after that. It's easy enough to put together for less money than IPD charges. You do need an enlarger and length of straight tube to take the place of IPD's adapter. Both of those items should be available anywhere.
Performance gain is minimal. But every little bit helps when you drive one of the most underpowered cars ever made.
