'91 745T fuel pre-pump problem? 700

Looking at '93 diagrams, I believe you can test either pump with a +12V jumper that ends in a 1/4" flat spade terminal, similar to a blade fuse terminal.
(I made such a jumper that connects to the cigarette lighter, so the +12V is key-controlled.)

1) Pull Fuse 11

2) Plug jumper into the farthest Fuse 11 terminal (toward engine)

3) Activate/apply +12V to jumper (e.g., Key On for cigarette lighter)

4) Tank pump should be running

5) Test Main pump by moving +12V jumper to closest Fuse 11 terminal

6) Remember to put Fuse 11 back in when done testing

P.S. "There are some entries that say if the pre-pump fails, then the main pump will run for more than 1.5 seconds when turning the key to KPII."

I agree that's BS.
IMO, there are several unvetted "tips" amongst the good FAQ stuff.
