Gasket Leak Cat to Front pipe 200 1991

Having my entire exhaust system on my garage floor i replaced all the hangers and gaskets from the manifold to the end pipe. I had the front pipe replaced at Midas about 2 years ago during the winter. When I seperated it from the cat it had remnants of a new style flange gasket flat style with the 3 holes. It almost looked like there was an other gasket in there. time welded onto the middle of the flange. Almost like a donut style. Can this be? I put on a OEM flat style and I have an exhaust leak at the connection. The flange on the front pipe appears warped as if a donut gasket was there and cranking down on the 3 bolts convexed the flange. So the new flat syle does not mate properly between the bolts. Can I sneak another donut in there or maybe double up on the factory new style flat? Ideas woud be appreciated. Leaking right there fills up your drivers compertmant and makes me sleepy
