'84 245DL Running Problems 200 1984

I've got a 1984 245DL that just doesn't want to run. It will start okay and run for about 15-30seconds and then the idle speed just slows, the engine start to knock around a lot and then the engine stalls. I can restart and restart over and over and get pretty much the same thing. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get my car to run?

Some more info about what I've done and what the car is doing: new main fuel pump, new intank fuel pump, new engine wire harness, new ignition harness, new distributor, and new alternator. When I start the car, I can firewall the gas pedal and it will rev up, but then after a minute or so the engine speed slows down and then stalls -even with the gas pedal remaining at firewall. I have also found that if when the car isn't running and I disconnect and then reconnect the AMM wires, that I hear a buzzing from what I'm guessing is the air control valve. I have also tried to adjust the idle speed of the engine, but that hasn't really seemed to do anything -but then again I'm not really sure how you are supposed to adjust the idle speed. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated. Trying to get it running for my brother whose Birthday is the 27th. Thanks. PFHarper@cox.net
