Blast from the Past 120-130 1967

My brother Pete had artillery training at Fort Sill, and went on to become an instructor there. I can't quite make out if he's have been there in '61, or not until '62. I remember visiting him in Lawton during that period.

I made the coast-to-coast trip with my folks many times, usually picking up 66 around St. Louis, as I recall, and taking it all the way to LA. It was a big deal to stay in Mickey Mantle's Holiday Inn in Joplin... eat Mexican food in Amarillo (we didn't have any of that much east of there in those days, and it was exotic)... get up at 3 a.m. in either Kingman or Needles to get across the Mojave before it got hot, "saturate before using" bag hung on the front bumper. All good memories.
