Front and rear seals leak with syntheic oil in 93 240 with 240 k 200 1993

Your seals were ready to go anyway: the detergent properties of the synthetic opened the path. Replace the rear seal at the indy mechanic (the dealer's $960 is absurd); clean out the flame trap and ventilating system including the breather box, a task you can do yourself, and run the car another 500,000 leak-free miles using synthetics in engine, transmission, p/steering, and differential.
