Removing the exhaust manifold 200 1987

After half-assing half of the exhaust on last winter, it's time i finished it up right. I've had a new downpipe and cat in my living room for a month or so now, and it's going on the car over the next two weeks. The local volvo guy advised me to remove the exhaust manifold while I'm at it and replace the gaskets. I'm just not certain how to remove it. I understand that there are studs and nuts holding it on, but the ends are pretty rusted. Will the studs simply back out? Is there a trick to it? Or is it as simple as loads of PB Blaster and some quality time with my impact wrench?
