91 940 Turbo intermittent no start

Still trying to get my Volvo home from upstate NY.
Last night I made it to the Newburgh Bridge. Car was running great
for 75 miles, out of the toll, the motor stumbles and stalls.
After numerous cranks, I was able to run the car at idle for 15 minutes. when I give it gas
and she coughs and dies. This happens intermiitantly .. i did replace plugs and wires
and the cars seems to be getting fuel buts acts like its starving for fuel.
temperature and time dont seem to be a factor. i was able to pull the
fuel filter and that seems to be OK. At least I could blow thru it.
Fuses and relays seem to be Ok.

any thoughts apprecaited
