Turnsignal Activation trips the Seatbelt ALarm....here we go... 200 1987

Just picked up a 1987 240DL...turn signals were working when I picked it up....went to activate the signal and when I depressed the lever, no turnsignals working, but the dang red light AND buzzer for the seatbelt warning system goes off....Sell it?
One theory I have is when I est drove it there was a passenger and the signals worked fine..are there sensors in the seats that could be involved?
