I know VN36 are available but at 300 plus dollars ea. Would a Solex like a 32 pict or 34 pict work? Jets are readily availble at any Aircooled VW supplier.
I've never seen a B-18A manifold. Those are probably easier to find for our our European friends, eh? I've heard of a few in North America, mostly imports like your 59 122 you wrote about?
Thanks for the KISS (keep it simple silly) advice! My culch pile has enlarged considerably lately since initial measurements show the 64 wagon's chassis is seriously bent on the left side.
If you find a source for single down draft B-18 intake manifolds, send a note! If I run into any model 512 Woodward governors I'll do likewise. They operate based on flywheel tooth count and will maintain output frequency to a hi level of accuracy.
Here are a couple good links that describe the basics of mating a prime mover to an ST head and a prime mover (changfa in this case).

And here is the Lovejoy catalog

Emphasis on a Lovejoy flex coupler. They can be directly ordered from Lovejoy or one of the major industrial suppliers like McMaster Carr I think they make a model that is and unfinished blank so it could be machined to mate to an M40 output flange. L-150 seems pretty popular at 10 to 12 kw.
