Transmission interchange ?'s 200 1989

I have purchased a '93 240 ... needs transmission per PO. PO says that when the car warms up, it will not back up, & also that it sounds as if it is slipping...and also when it gets to about 50-60 in drive, it slips also. I have an '89 that I also purchased for parts, and was told that all mechanical was in good working order...but, has body damage.

Question here: can I possibly take the '89 tranny out and put it in the'93? How difficult is this task? What could be the pitfalls?

I have read the FAQ's regarding the 940/740 .... but wonder if all applies to the 240's?

Thanks in advance guys .. y'all are the best!

randyB
