Remote door lock 700 1987

I've read the FAQ on adding a remote door lock system to the '87 740 and there are still a couple points I'm not getting. I pulled a passenger side lock motor, reversed the mounting cage and mounted it on the driver's side along with the plastic wheel that acts as a pivot point. This is the wheel that is directly connected to the lock motor and is in the lower left corner of the driver's door. Now the first question: How does one attach a linkage from the pivot wheel to the lock actuator/door nob? The FAQ alludes to using the linkage from the driver's side rear door to do this. I happen to only have a spare linkage from a passenger side rear door, but frankly don't see how anything else can attach to the actuator. I should say that what I'm calling the "actuator" is the black box that the door lock knob's short linkage is attached to - I assume that when the knob is pulled up, it lifts something in the actuator to send a signal to the other door's locks. The first step that I'm not understanding is how you attach yet another linkage from the actuator to the lock motor at the bottom of the door.

The second thing I'm not understanding is how one gets power to the lock motor. The FAQ mentions attaching the lock motor to the power mirror wiring and doing the same on the passenger door. Am I to understand that the un-used power mirror wiring just goes between the two doors and isn't attached to anything else and is just laying fallow for me to use to send power from the passenger door to the driver's door? If this is true, then is the power mirror wiring that unused round four-wire plug in both of the front doors? Is there an easier/better way to get power to the new driver's lock motor? I should point out that all these questions are coming up as I've installed a remote starter that can also control a remote door lock.

Thanks!
