940 warning light symptoms and overdrive question 900

Howdy. I have a 940 8value wagon 1993. Can someone tell me the symptoms that would be caused by a faulty warning light relay? I have a bulb out warning light that comes on with a right turn signal lever, goes out with braking sometimes, flickers at other times, dims and goes out at other times. I have checked all bulbs and everything is fine. Also my light does not come on at dashboard for overdrive arrow. My cars shifts through all 3 gears plus overdrive, but does not respond to pushing in switch at back of shifter lever. Is this the relay? solonoid? or a bad dash light? the car will not go into a 3 speed only mode, just will stay with overdrive mode. thanks for any help.
