Engine dies... throws code 1-4-4 700

Well, after searching the FAQ's and wiring diagrams, it was discovered that the fuel injection relay (white one inside relay tray) was crapping out. Seeing as how the relay provides power to the AMM, it is not surprising that the AMM is unable to send or receive signals to the LH2.4 unit, hence the 1-4-4 code.

With the relay on my kitchen table it was no trouble at all to resolder the relay to the PCB - yes, there was a hairline circular crack around one of the relay terminals.

Just for confirmation, I took my brick for a spin and yanked the relay out while I was driving... lo and behold it died in exactly the same manner and threw the same code!

So, a hearty thanks to all the posters on this site - your experience saved me hours of troubleshooting and possibly some cash - throwing parts at an electrical fault can be a costly affair!
