replacing power antenna 700

My ' 84 760 turbo sedan has had a non functioning power antenna for some time now. I bought a used replacement off of Ebay, but the shaft is too short to reach the top of the rear fender. The motor itself looks different from the old one as well. Any ideas about how to make this work? My old motor is corroded and rusted inside, so I don't want to try and fix it.
