Is it really the temp comp board? 200

Just making sure before I go pulling the dash again, I think the screws are getting worn out..Ok the temp gauge works most of the time but then there are times it just does not work. It has never gone into the red range or anywhere near that. It usually stays in the middle as expected. But when it does not work it stays on the bottom or cold area. Never had it be irregular (as in jumping around) or anything.. So is it the comp board or am I possibially looking for bad wiring, connection or sending unit defective.?? ?Max:<(?
