I had it backwards 700 1989

So if I find a Volvo 740 with a "016" AMM than I am looking at a LH 2.4 engine?

and that engine, with a rear mounted Distributor, will fit into my 1989 740?

I was thinking of putting the '88 engine into my '89 so you were correct originally.

I'm searching the junkyards for a good engine to replace the '89 740's engine with

I knew of an '88 in the yard that was good but since it's LH 2.2 I'll just leave it there and keep looking.

what year did the 74 drop the LH 2.4 and go to another system?

thanks

jack
