The gnomes broke my centre support - bad vibrations man. 200 1977

I'm a total newbie to Volvos but just removed the driveshaft from my newly purchased '78 242 for the same problem. It was actually quite an easy job.

Just remove the rear u-joint flange bolts from the differential and give it a firm tug to get the splines to disengage from the front driveshaft. Then loosen the center support bolts and remove the front u-joint flange bolts from the transmission. Once you remove the center support bolts, everything comes out quite easily. The center support on my car does appear to be asymmetrical so yours might not be bent.

Of course, all the above assumes that your 245 is the same as my 242. I have no clue if they are actually the same.

Good luck!
