740 ECT Problems 700 1990

Which sensor did you replace? The one for engine control is at #3 cylinder. Regtangular connector, not rounded. The one at #2 cylinder is for the gauge.

If you replaced the correct one, then connections either at the sensor or elsewhere in the circuit may be at fault. The ground path is internal to the brass housing screwed into the cylinder head.
