123S 120-130

My first Volvo was one I bought from my neighbour in the Netherlands. It was in 1973 and the car was a 1965 Model 123S. I had to say goodbye to her in 1978 after being hit
which caused a triple roll-over and a totalled car. The Volvo dealer bought the car as she had more than 620.000 km on the I believe B21 engine.
My questions is; I never see anybody talk about 123S I see the 122S mentioned many times but never the 123S. This was a great car and I like to know what the difference was/is between the European 123S I had and the 122S you see here in North America????
I replaced it with a 242GT in 1982 here in the US that too was a great car until somebody ran a stop sign and into me totaling that car. At that time having a wife and new son and one on the way, financially I could no longer afford the more expensive newer models and had to settle for a less expensive Japanese car.
let me know about the 123S & 122S differences.
