interior codes 444-544

My car is a 1964. I doubt that the name plate was changed as I sent Volvo Sweden an email a year or so ago asking them to verify if my engine ser # and chassis # were "matching" the answer came back that they are. I have owned the car for over 30 years so as long as I have owned it it has been this way. My first PV544 was a 62 and to my recollection it was the same interior as this but that was again over 30 years ago. VP Autoparts is willing to make the interior either way for the same price. So the final decision is mine. I am trying to get some input from other owners to see if my memory is correct.
