No start 740 fixed! 700

Those Rex coil units seem to be a rare failure, based on my 3+ years here.

Did you try removing just the coil first (2 torx screws) and clean the contacts?
Or did you just swap the whole assembly, with the coil still mounted to the amplifier/heatsink?

I just pre-emptively pulled the 940's coil and cleaned off the 2 terminals that connect to the amplifier. But now wonder if, like the Bosch "Power Stage" (amplifier), the Rex heatsink amplifier might be somewhat prone to heat-transfer problems caused by dried out thermal grease under the heatsink?

Did you notice anything like that when you removed the old part to replace it?
