Immobile sunroof S90-V90

When I bought the car (Sept. 2005), the sunroof glass did not open. It has not managed to magically fix itself, despite my pleadings for the switch to "please work this time...D'OH!"

The plastic guides do not appear to be deteriorated, and all the fuses check out. Is it possible that the motor could be burned out, or could the wiring somehow have gotten deteriorated in a car that, while mechanically troublesome, has a nice, unmolested interior?

I seem to vaguely recall that the guy from whom I purchased the car mumbled something about disconnecting or deactivating the sunroof so it wouldn't leak or brake. I can't remembered exactly...

Where should I start? A search of the boards didn't turn up anything. I've finally gotten most of the mechanicals of this car sorted (minus that mysterious rattle that ISN'T the swaybar end links), after thousands of dollars and much cursing, so now I'm getting to the "nice to haves", like an operable sunroof.

Thanks,
RyGuy
