HELP Ongoing electrical nightmare! Engine cuts out. 700

They didn't replace the distributor with all those problems?

That's what you need. The hall sensor is grounding out due to bad insulation at the connector. The only good fix is a new or good used distributor for a LH 2.2 car.

I did this for my 88 740GLE, same dist, same symptoms, about 3 or 4 years ago. Never gave me a bit of trouble afterwards.

Sorry you've had to go through so much pain with it...
