I bought a 1988 780 with the V6 a couple of month ago so I don't have any long term experience with the car. The engine and running gear is all 760 so not a problem with parts. I have been watching eBay for awhile and some interior parts do show up though haven't seen any body parts for sale yet. As others have mentioned, make sure the body, trim, glass, and interior is good. Some of the interior parts such as seat motors are the same as other models. Most switches are unique to the 780 so check everything. Rust areas to look out for are the drains in the moon roof, front fenders, and under the trim in the side windows.
