Good-News Report 200 1984

Just sharing a bit of good news. Olga performed very well on our recent 2,000-mile road trip from Chicago to Georgia. We averaged 75mph, and even loaded with approximately 250lbs of gear she averaged 25mpg...even with all the mountain driving in eastern Kentucky & Tennessee. Being my first Volvo, I was surprised at how comfortable the ride was (she has no cruise control, though). Thankfully, I encountered no problems whatsoever (besides an annoying windshield leak at the lower-left corner)...and the aftermarket stereo is working fine. Sure, the "laundry list" still has things to fix/repair, but we're rolling along fairly well.

Additionally, we've had our first two days of below-zero windchills here in Chicagoland. Since she has to be parked outside, I was a bit concerned. But again, thankfully she's starting well (the idle-control unit has been acting up over the past few months, but seems to be working better in the colder weather).

Thanks again to all you fine folks who have helped with fixes and encouragement since buying her last July. My trust & appreciation level continues to elevate.
