UPDATE! IAC control valve? 200

I truly believe that posting back results is a good thing for this forum so here goes:
I was having intermittent stalling problems with my '87 240. It would just stall when idling. The idle speed would jump to 1500 rpm and then drop down to 800 every once in a while for no reason. Lately the idle speed would rise and hold at 1500 and then the engine would start missing with no power. Engine had new tune up parts, new wires and the throttle body and IAC were cleaned when I did an engine transplant in the fall.
I pulled the IAC over the weekend and shot a little WD40 in the inlet and outlet and then spun the motor around a little. I also lubed up the throttle body and reassembled. VOILA! So far this week, no stalling or funny throttle games. I hope it holds out, and maybe it will help one of you folks with a similar problem.
