heater core? 200 1987

So I think my heater core is toast. Reason being, it's been COLD here for the last week or so and in that time my windows have started fogging up on the inside of the car. Defrost on, fresh air on, plenty of heat, but lots of fogging and when I wipe it away, there's an oily residue that's very hard to remove.

I had been hoping it was from coffee spilled into the vents but I don't really think that's the case.

Soooo... does that indeed sound like the heater core? And how is that to relace? I haven't looked through the books yet, but recalling blower motor fun, I can't imagine that heater core is much easier. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thanks all!
