Couldn't find these bushings and Pins I needed to tighten up my M47 Shifter From aftermarket suppliers so I was forced to go to the Dealer for them.
Geese, who are they hiring these days? I walk up to the Service area, 5 people sitting behind their desks and not one was going to look up and ask if they could help me.
Found the Parts counter, The guy comes over and my conversation started something like. "I have a 200 with the M47 trani and I'm looking for Bushings to take care of the sloppy shifter." I under stand that it was kind of a general statement and he would have to pull a Book out to get me the parts but he was clueless. The word "200" was foriegn to him. He needed to hear "240DL"
Then he needed me to tell him it was the Manual transmission offered in the '89.
I thought it was sad. Anyone who has worked in a dealership for more then a year should catch on to some basics, I would think.
It was less greif to me, when he showed up with the book, He just handed it to me, I found the page, and grabbed the part numbers. It just made both of us happier that way.
What happened to the counter guys that used to actually know what they were selling?
